For close to a decade, a special activity has been open to neighborhood youth ages 11-18. Known among the youth as “Woodshop,” the experience was begun by contractor John Paderta, and is housed in one of our parish buildings.
Youth stop in Saturdays to work on several different woodworking machines to create simple to intricate projects such as plaques, clocks, lamps, and more. Some of the items are created for gifts for their families, while other items are offered for sale to benefit local youth activities. You can see the current items available for purchase during parish office hours at 4541 South Wood Street.
